    Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about voice-based Naam Jap practice and privacy.

What is Naam Jap and how does the voice counter help?

Naam Jap is the mindful repetition of a sacred divine name or mantra (such as Radha, Ram, Hare Krishna, or Om Namah Shivaya). This voice counter listens to your spoken phrase using browser speech recognition, allowing you to focus on devotion and breath without constantly looking at your screen or clicking buttons.

Is my voice audio recorded or stored on any server?

No. Audio is processed directly through your browser’s standard Web Speech API. We do not record, store, or transmit your voice audio to any private server. Chanting counts and streaks are saved purely within your local browser storage (localStorage).

How can I improve voice recognition accuracy?

For optimal counting accuracy, chant in a quiet room at a steady, rhythmic pace. Ensure you select the matching pronunciation language from the language dropdown (e.g., Hindi, Indian English, Gujarati, etc.). You can also use a wired or Bluetooth headset microphone for clearer detection.

Can I practice if my device or browser does not support microphone access?

Yes. If speech recognition is unavailable or microphone access is restricted, our dedicated Touch & Auto Counter provides a serene, distraction-free tapping interface with Dhyan (Zen) mode and Stealth dark screen support.

How are my daily practice goals and streaks calculated?

Your daily count resets automatically at midnight based on your local device clock. When you practice on consecutive calendar days, your streak counter advances. All records remain privately on your own device.
